Why we built Koshh
Built by an aspirant, for aspirants.
If you're preparing for UPSC, you already know the feeling. Dozens of tabs open. Three coaching apps. A Telegram folder full of PDFs you'll “read later.” A hundred YouTube lectures bookmarked. And despite all of it, the feeling that you're not actually covering what matters.
The information overload problem
UPSC aspirants don't lack resources. They drown in them. Monthly magazines, daily editorials, coaching material, optional subject content, answer-writing practice sets. Every source promises to be “the one” you need. The result is that aspirants spend more time collecting material than actually studying it. Things pile up across notebooks, apps, and PDFs with no single organized view of what's been covered and what's been missed.
The PYQ blind spot
Previous Year Questions are the most reliable signal of what UPSC actually tests. But most aspirants treat them as practice sets, something to attempt after finishing “the syllabus.” They rarely step back to see the patterns. Certain themes come back across years. The Commission tests understanding over rote facts. A 2017 question on GST governance was followed by a 2019 question on tax classification. PYQs are not just practice. They are a map of what the exam cares about.
Current affairs, read in isolation
Every aspirant reads current affairs daily. But reading the news without connecting it to the syllabus or to past questions is like collecting puzzle pieces without seeing the picture on the box. When you read about a new environmental policy, do you know which syllabus topic it falls under? Can you see that a similar policy appeared as a Prelims question three years ago? Without these connections, current affairs becomes a treadmill. Endless reading with no clear payoff on exam day.
What Koshh does differently
Koshh does not add more content to your life. It organizes what matters and shows you the connections you would otherwise miss.
- Syllabus as the spine. Everything is organized by the official UPSC syllabus topics. No coaching-invented modules, no bloat. You always know exactly where you stand.
- PYQs mapped to topics. 10+ years of previous year questions classified by syllabus topic, so you see patterns instead of isolated questions.
- Current affairs linked to PYQs. When you read a current affair, you see which past questions tested the same theme. Today's news becomes tomorrow's exam preparation.
- Progress you can see. Topic-by-topic tracking so you always know what you've covered and what's left. No guesswork, just clarity.
Prepare with clarity, not chaos
We built Koshh because we have been in your shoes. The exam is hard enough without fighting your own study system. Koshh is calm and focused on the one thing that matters: helping you walk into the exam hall knowing you covered what counts.
No coaching factory. Just organized, connected preparation.
